From the desk of a late bloomer,

If you managed to find me in the wild west of the internet—ironically, through the very algorithms I detest—then welcome : )

Having survived the Boxing Day Tsunami and the Tamil Genocide, all before the age of 10, you’d think that I’d have more clarity in life—and for awhile, I did, before the social media era. I knew right from wrong with some room for greyness. But now, I watch mass graves of Eelam Tamil children dug up in my homeland while being sold the trendiest lip gloss that the “it girls” are wearing this fall season.

It’s this disconnect—the fading empathy, eroding morals, and ever blurring personal identity that continues to plague my digital and physical existence as my screen time creeps up.

Some of you may know me from Instagram. I started Krithy Creates, formerly KermitKritterStudios as a creative outlet to share study tips while I was in grad school, which has slowly evolved into creating cozy content around intentional living and soft productivity. Even this precious organic community has been losing its light with short-form content fatigue and algorithmic changes that no-one asked for.

I created this website to create long-form content on my own terms. I love documenting my journey of building a life that feels soft, intentional, and real, one that’s rooted in self-compassion, community, and the quiet joy of creating without rushing.

A bit more about me:

  • Other than surviving a genocide and natural disaster before the age of 10 (god, what sh*t luck), I’m also the eldest daughter of an immigrant family which naturally means I wear multiple hats at once
  • I speak Tamil, one of the oldest languages in the world, and I’m deeply proud of my Eelam Tamil heritage
  • I run a successful private academy as a STEM educator, teaching math and science courses helping students in my community achieve their academic goals
  • It turns out my love for education goes beyond teaching, I also love designing stationery for my shop Project Studiously, reaching customers in over 126 countries
  • I am a self-taught creative and, dare I say, a writer (is this a safe space to admit that to myself?!)
  • I have the cutest dog named April and the majority of my days after work are spent with my furry princess : )

Honestly, there isn’t a single day I’m not thankful the universe didn’t give me what I wanted as a kid because it would’ve made me miserable.

I guess that’s the thing about being a late bloomer: you realize a meaningful life isn’t found in achievements, accolades, or external validation, but in slowing down and figuring out what truly matters to you.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet!

If you’d like to work with me, feel free to reach out at [email protected] and I’d be delighted to hear from you.
